  Dancing the Right away...
The Right to do or Be somthing is often based most strongly in the moral authority granted to one person by others.

The POTUS is, by Constitutional Authority, the Commander in Chief of the United States Armed Forces... but the new CnC - the Chicagoan in Chief - has proven he does not have the Moral Authority for the Job.

For the first time in 56 years since President Dwight D. Eisenhower set the precedent at HIS inaguration, the New Guy declined to even put in an appearance at the quadrennial "Salute to Heroes Inaugural Ball" - held on the night of the Inauguration.

In 2005 President Bush and VP Cheney began the round of Inaugural Balls at the Salute to Heroes Ball - and made a special point of explaining why it was traditional to start the round of balls by saluting the remaining MoH recipients.

14 Inaugurations have passed and ten Presidents from both Political Parties have made it a point to attend this gathering of Medal of Honor recipients... except for this one... and the news went Viral.

It seems that the Mainstream Media and the Moonbat Left Blogosphere were so desperate to hide this snub from the public that the Media spiked it and the lefties tried to quash the reports by claiming the ball didn't happen.

Maybe it's just me, but if an Inagural Ball that has been on every President's itenerary since 1953 suddenly up and dissappeared - or merged with another ball - I would think it would make News beforehand. It most certainly would have afterward if that would have, in fact, been able to get the Thetans off Barry's back so he could be Clear.

No, the Salute our Heroes Inaugural Ball happened.  The Chicagoan In Chief simply didn't think the invite, or the MoH recipients in attendence, were worth his time.  He needed to hobnob with Hollyweird Stars.

This was the 50th anniversary of the Medal of Honor Society.  This event was one of the signature events of the year, as it is every 4 years. And The Chicagoan In Chief skipped it.

There are 104 living recipients of the MoH.

47 were at the Ball.

Out of the 104, those 47 are basically 100% of those healthy enough to make the trip to ANY event- youngest living is 58, the oldest is over 100. Within BHO’s time of administration, we will lose 40% of these heroes living today.

And on Day One, this CnC lost his Moral Authority by snubbing them.

  Changes to the Blog
I know we don't have many repeat visitors. I understand that folks don't like change. I know that I (or we) haven't been tremendously productive as to content, quality content. Oh, we have some particular posts that get lots of hits. Quite interestingly, these are posts of a type we intended to make but then did not. Well, the country as a whole has voted for change and we're going to makes some changes here.

One of those changes is that we going to become partisan. Not for a party, per se, but for a person or persons (perhaps) and certainly for a concept. That concept is the American ideal. For us, the American ideal is personified in the concept of self-reliance, a work ethic, honesty/forthrightness, decency, personal property rights, family, religion, an ability to defend oneself from criminals and crooked politicians, and personal responsibility. We are pro-military, pro-choice (even for the unborn...), and pro-capitalism. We strongly believe in judging people (men and women) by the content of their character and not the color of their skin. We see ourselves as God's creation, as having the two greatest of God's gifts of free will and the Savior Jesus Christ. We accept that our charge in accepting God is to oppose evil without regard to personal consequences.

Our country is faced with multiple challenges. We have both moved forward in our ability to ignore race and backwards in our inability to recognize the agents of totalitarianism. We are under assault by radical Muslims around the world. We face a resurgence of Russian imperialism. Our enemies without and within are working to perpetrate frauds on our financial markets and with regard to climate change in order to gain power. Our leaders have obstructed energy independence and refuse to defend our sovereign borders allowing an invasion by millions of illegal aliens.

The challenges are many but we do have answers, some of which address multiple problems. We hope to promote those answers and to promote people we believe will support our views.

Over the next few days or weeks you will begin to notice changes in the appearance to this blog. We hope that our few loyal readers will hang with us and perhaps contribute and that new readers will find us and help us get our message out. Thank you and may God bless...

  Introduction
Introduction
Howdy. I want to thank Hobie for asking me to join him here. While I've never met Hobie in person, I have known him for about 5 years and consider him to be a person of great character, and his invitation to post here a personal compliment.

I reside at 8000ft elev. in the Colorado Rockies with views of the Great Divide, and the National Forest is my backyard.I am currently an electrical engineering student, and a member of the National Guard in an infantry unit. I am an avid hunter, shooter and outdoorsman. I have raised and trained personal protection dogs, although I'm not actively involved at this time due to my military and school obligations. I am a diesel truck fanatic, and I built the engine in my current F350 crew cab 4x4. I am a former licensed General Contractor and licensed septic installer. I designed and built small vacation cabins off the grid. I have also contracted almost every trade associated with building a home, and consider myself to be a master carpenter. I was a custom framing contractor for a number of years with a small crew that I ran personally, in other words I had a tool belt on every day, and I also contracted custom interior trim at other times. The last couple homes I built, I did almost all the work by myself, including framing and standing walls, due to lack of good help in my area.

I am also a Libertarian. I believe both of the current popular parties have utterly failed this country. Neither party represents the values envisioned by the Founders of this nation. The most recent actions of the current government have practically nullified the protections we have under The Constitution. I believe that any gun control for any reason is an affront to, and a direct attack on the principles of the 2nd Amendment and our Civil Liberties in general. I believe the 4th and 14th Amendment have been completely molested by “probable cause”, “no knock raids” and “asset forfeiture”. I am also a law enforcement detractor, and the ongoing and increasing abuses by the militarized law enforcement community leads me to believe that they are rapidly approaching the point where they are more harmful than helpful to the free citizenry of this country, and no longer represent the values of the peace officer.

I joined the NG in 06 when I found out they had raised the age to 40, I was 39 at the time. I've always felt I had an unfulfilled duty to my country and out of all my accomplishments, this is the one I'm most proud of. I turned 40 at Basic Training with a bunch of kids half my age. It was the hardest thing I've ever done, and the most fun I've ever had. I recommend service to everyone, and I would be willing to advocate a short term of service as mandatory in this country, as I believe it would produce a better overall class of citizenry than what we have today, and the result would be a better and stronger country.

My current goal is to receive a degree in electrical engineering with a mechanical minor and use it to work in the alternative energy field. I have a home that is off the grid, and I designed and installed the alternative energy systems for the other homes I built. This created a strong desire to become more involved in the field of alternative energy.

Thank you for taking the time to read my bio, and you can look forward to some outrageous cop bashing and government questioning posts from me in the future, or as long as they are allowed or Hobie gives me the boot anyway LOL!

Sincerely,
Rmndndngrus

  Welcome Rmdndngrus
I'd like to welcome Rmdndngrus to the blog. Another soldier, and older (can I say that?) but newer to the ranks of the military. I'm sure he'll introduce himself.

  Just because...
The Blog-O-Cuss Meter - Do you cuss a lot in your blog or website?
Created by OnePlusYou

I would have thought that this blog has more cussing than my shooting blog. I wonder if shooting terms are negatively viewed by the software used to evaluate the site for the cuss-o-meter...

  One of those disturbing searches...
I finally got one of those disturbing searches that led to the site. Tam and Mauser*Girl would be proud. Well, I guess it wasn't all that bad, after all one has to consider the blog title AND they stayed for 4 minutes plus...

  Name Change
If you actually come here, not accidentally, you might notice the name has changed. That's because both Hobie (me) and Old Ironsights are old soldiers. 1+1=2 and all that. Just to maintain accuracy in reporting...

  Blog Address May Change Soon
Due to Comcast's purchase/takeover of Adelphia's assets (at least locally) I will eventually have to change the address for the blog. Please watch for posts of the correct new address.
