  The State of the Union
Let me give you the abbreviated version...
The state of the union sucks but it is all George Bush's fault. I'm going to fix everything all by my lonesome by doing more of what already hasn't worked, i.e. throw away trillions of your great-grand babies' dollars. I'm sorry you were too stupid to understand what I was trying to do but that's ok as the Senate is also too stupid so I'm going to ignore them and the Supreme Court is too stupid and I'm going to try to work around them as well. Yes, I'm going to cut spending but only on things we should be spending money on. By the way, it is ALL about ME.
I couldn't stand to watch. My wife did watch and listen. I was wandering around the house doing chores while I got updates from my wife. Of course she couldn't hear the TV over herself so she turned the volume UP. Consequently I could hear Barack I throughout the house.

  Not enough votes for Bernanke
Senate Dems Not Sure They Can Get Enough Votes to Reconfirm Bernanke
Amidst the voter anger at Wall Street and Washington, D.C., ABC News has learned that the Senate Democratic leadership isn't sure there are enough votes to re-confirm Ben Bernanke for another term as chairman of the Federal Reserve.

Bernanke's term expires on Jan. 31.

The White House did not respond to many requests for comment.

"The American people are disgusted with the greed and recklessness of Wall Street," Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., said in an interview with The Associated Press last month. "People are asking, 'Why didn't the Fed intervene at the appropriate time to stop the casino-type activities of large financial companies?'"

Sanders, Sen. Jim Bunning, R-Ky., Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C., and Sen. David Vitter, R-La., have all put holds on Bernanke's nomination, requiring 60 votes to proceed to a vote.
Gee, with all the bank bashing are we to believe the Fed Chair had nothing to do with our current economic troubles? I mean he went along with the socialist free house loan stuff. Think Chris Dodd will vote for re-confirmation?

  The True Face of Communism
The Soviet Story” is a story of an Allied power, which helped the Nazis to fight Jews and which slaughtered its own people on an industrial scale. Assisted by the West, this power triumphed on May 9th, 1945. Its crimes were made taboo, and the complete story of Europe’s most murderous regime has never been told. Until now…

Martin Luther King was a Socialist
That's what Julian Bond, chair of the NAACP says.
"I'm much more than a civil rights leader," King said of himself that year. A year later he told his Atlanta congregation: "There must be a better distribution of wealth. . . . We can't have a system where some of the people live in superfluous, inordinate wealth while others live in abject, deadening poverty."
...and...
Today we do not honor the critic of capitalism, or the pacifist who declared all wars evil, or the man of God who argued that a nation that chose guns over butter would starve its people and kill itself. We do not honor the man who linked apartheid in South Africa and Alabama; we honor an antiseptic hero.

We have stripped his life of controversy, and celebrate the conventional instead.
When I was a young person, living in that time, watching the career of the Reverend Martin Luther King unfold as he fought for equality, listening to his speeches, I too had a dream. I too dreamed of a world in which people were judged by the content of their character and not the color of their skin.

Now, we see how the heirs of that dream of squandered it on retribution, personal ambition, self-enrichment and debauchery. Many hundreds of thousands of WHITE people have become stronger and better promoters of the dream than the people that the Reverend sought to liberate. Many of his own people, his own apostles, have betrayed him.

Glenn Beck played the audio of Julian Bond making this statement. He thinks that the idea is to run the equation good=King=socialist=Obama thus good=socialist=Obama. The sainted Reverend Martin Luther King as shill for Obamunism. Oh how the power hungry thieve, they will even steal a dead man's reputation.

Scott Brown Wins in Massachusetts and...
...the Dem/S seem to not slow down in the least...
- Obama to stick to agenda
- Obama to Nationalize $103 Billion Student Loan Industry
- Democrats' to lose 60-vote Senate supermajority
- Nancy Pelosi said on Wednesday Democrats will push ahead with a sweeping healthcare overhaul
- Rep Frank: Determined To Look Into Wall Street Pay

They don't get it. We don't want them to look into Wall Street pay, we want them to cut taxes so that small business and give us a job that will get us some pay. We don't want the government to control our access to college, we want them to get the colleges to TEACH something useful (as if that will happen). We don't want them to change the rules so they can win, we want them to hear us and see the reality which is that we don't want them to win. We don't want them to stick to their agenda. It is un-American.

A Non-Issue, Coded References to Bible Passages on Weapons Sights
I guess the hard-news folks at ABC found this out about Trijicon.
Coded references to New Testament Bible passages about Jesus Christ are inscribed on high-powered rifle sights provided to the United States military by a Michigan company, an ABC News investigation has found.

The sights are used by U.S. troops in Iraq and Afghanistan and in the training of Iraqi and Afghan soldiers. The maker of the sights, Trijicon, has a $660 million multi-year contract to provide up to 800,000 sights to the Marine Corps, and additional contracts to provide sights to the U.S. Army.

U.S. military rules specifically prohibit the proselytizing of any religion in Iraq or Afghanistan and were drawn up in order to prevent criticism that the U.S. was embarked on a religious "Crusade" in its war against al Qaeda and Iraqi insurgents.
I have the perfect fix for this. The military can take a dremel tool to every sight to remove the serial number and then an electric pencil to mark them with a new serial, every one of which can start with "666". That will square things, right?

If at first you don't succeed, delay
Seating Mass. Senate winner could be delayed
Massachusetts's top election official says it could take weeks to certify the results of the upcoming U.S. Senate special election. That delay could let President Barack Obama preserve a key 60th vote for his health care overhaul even if the Republican who has vowed to kill it wins Democrat Edward M. Kennedy's former seat.

Secretary of State William F. Galvin, citing state law, says city and town clerks must wait at least 10 days for absentee ballots to arrive before they certify the results of the Jan. 19 election. They then have five more days to file the returns with his office.

Galvin bypassed the provision in 2007 so his fellow Democrats could gain a House vote they needed to override a veto of then-Republican President George W. Bush, but the secretary says U.S. Senate rules would preclude a similar rush today.
But even though a Democrat operative says they can do it, Bareny Frank lashes out over accusations that Mass. Dems would stall a Brown certification
However, while the special election for the Massachusetts Senate seat previously held by Ted Kennedy has yet to be decided, the Brown campaign has already charged that Massachusetts Democrats will find a way to keep Mr. Brown from being certified, should he win, before the final vote on health care legislation happens in the Senate. Fox News spoke to Mr. Brown about his concern on this issue.:

"When I heard ... the machine, not only locally but nationally, is trying to manipulate the process and make sure that if I'm elected, a duly elected senator, I can't be seated in an effort to vote on this important piece of national legislation, it made me almost sick to my stomach," Brown said.

"Everything I've heard right now I don't like very much," said Massachusetts Senate Minority Leader Richard Tisei, noting the secretary is signaling he will "drag his feet"

"That is the stupidest thing I've been asked in a long time. That is insane, the suggestion could only come from a demented right wing source," erupted Representative Barney Frank (D - MA), when asked by The Washington Times about what he thought of assertions that Massachusetts Democrats would stall the certification process should Mr. Brown win. "There isn't the slightest possibility of it happening---a way of doing it. That is conspiracy theory at its most contemptible."
No Barney not from the right wing of anything from the Democrat Massachusetts Secretary of State William F. Galvin!

  Poor Martha Coakley
Martha Coakley is running for the U.S. Senate seat formerly held by Teddy Kennedy.  Just like Chappaquiddick Kennedy, she's morally challenged.  The latest is that her staffer committed battery and as an Attorney General she did nothing and claims she has no knowledge of the incident.

The AP got a photo of her surveying the aftermath...

She was in D.C. to get campaign money from "Big Pharma", you know, so she can go to Washington and regulate "Big Pharma".  Yeah, right.

She doesn't know that Al Qaeda is still in Afghanistan.

She thinks traveling is the same as foreign policy experience.  So, I guess living in Korea for 5 years makes me a Far East expert...

Poor Martha. She thought she had it sewed up and now she's in such a tight race she had to leave Massachusetts and run to D.C. to beg for money so she can run some more negative ads...

  We will not submit!

It isn't 9/11/anything but that doesn't matter. What matters is that the word gets out to those jihadists that they aren't winning hearts and minds in this country. They need to know that we're not going to give in, not going to convert, not going to submit to sharia, not going to support a government that does any of these things.

Michelle Malkin has made the case for this pledge.   That she did so back in 2006 is of no importance.  It was true when President Jefferson sent the Navy to the Mediterranean and it is true in 2010.  Millions for defense, not a penny for tribute.

In truth, the jihadists have succeeded in doing to me what the German blitz did to stiffen the British resolve in 1940-41.  I am radicalized.  I see all Muslims as possible enemies and jihadists as people to be removed from the planet.  I am no longer sympathetic to the cause of the Palestinians.  I have no empathy for the Lebanese.  I am not their friend. I am their implacable enemy.

  Tax Code is TOO Complex
When the IRS Commissioner has to use a professional tax preparer because the code is too complex for him to understand (and presumably too complex to oversee enforcement) he is either a mental lightweight OR the code is too complex. I'm willing to allow that Douglas Shulman is smart enough so I'm thinking the code is too complex. Just how does he oversee fair, equitable enforcement of the code he doesn't understand?
IRS Commissioner Douglas Shulman does not file his own taxes in part because he believes the tax code is complex.

During an interview on C-SPAN's "Newsmakers" program that aired on Sunday, Shulman said he uses a tax preparer for his own returns.

"I've used one for years. I find it convenient. I find the tax code complex so I use a preparer," Shulman said.

Pressed on how he would make the tax code simpler, Shulman responded, "I don't write the tax laws. Congress writes the tax laws so that's a whole different discussion."

The IRS this month announced it will be scrutinizing the tax preparer industry. Shulman said the IRS is looking to set "a minimal level of competence in the preparer community."

Later in the C-SPAN interview, Shulman downplayed his use of a tax preparer, saying he has used one for 10 years. He noted that he and President Barack Obama are proponents of simplifying the tax code.
I don't buy that last comment. The POTUS is supporting many pieces of legislation which will create enduring complications to the tax code.

Pistol-Packing Pastor Quits to Work for Gun Rights, Protecting Churches
Jim Taylor got the call to go to Mozambique and sold nearly everything to go do that. Ken Pagano got the call to defend Christians by defending 2nd Amendment Rights (might be a very timely calling, too) and that's what he's going to do.
A pistol-packing pastor who drew national attention earlier this year for hosting a "God-and-Guns" event at his church is stepping down from the pulpit to serve his flock with a new mission.

Pastor Ken Pagano ended his 30-year career last month when he resigned from the New Bethel Church in Louisville, Ky., saying that he wants to focus on church security and Second Amendment rights — a crusade he insists is better fought outside the ministry.

"Thirty years was a good, long run, but it's time for a change," Pagano told the Washington Times. "If I can write my own ticket, I want to get involved more in Second Amendment issues as they affect the church, and I can do more from outside the pulpit than from behind it," Pagano told the paper.

About 200 people attended Pagano's "Open Carry Celebration" at the New Bethel Church in June. The event commemorated the roles of religion and gun ownership in American history, and included a handgun raffle. Attendees were also provided with firearms-safety information.

While Pagano says the event drew mostly positive responses, it made him realize that he might have another calling — keeping worshippers safe.

Harry Reid speaks the truth, finally...
That's the big news today, that Harry Reid, off the record, told the truth about Barack Obama.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada described in private then-Sen. Barack Obama as "light skinned" and "with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one."
He's actually apologizing for telling the truth. This is exactly why Obama was selected as the counter-Hillary candidate. Schumer's behavior pretty much supports this. It also points up one of Obama's characteristics, that he'll lie to get his way.
with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one.
We've seen him do that.

There are a number of pundits who are trying to make Harry Reid's comment seem racist. It isn't. It is reality. It is reality that many non-blacks wouldn't vote for somebody speaking like a gansta-rapper and/or with very dark skin tone. I'm not talking about just whites, I'm talking about people of Asian, Latin and even African descent. Such people aren't perceived by some in these groups as intelligent, capable or responsible. That's how it is. The reason that Michelle Obama's comments on pride in her country
...this is the first time I've been proud...
got the traction in the anti-Obama movement was because nobody who isn't black wants black people coming after them for something that their parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, etc, MIGHT have done as much as 300 years ago.

Harry Reid finally spoke the truth and for the same reason we have elected Barack Obama as President of the United States, namely a majority too stupid to see reality for what it is, he might well lose his re-election bid. I guess that means some good will come of it...

Islam as Cult and Feminists as Self-Serving Opportunists
I was reading Obama's New Year Gift To The Saudi King by Nonie Darwish and a recurring concept came to mind.

My idea is that Islam isn't a true religion but a cult constructed for the political purposes and that Mohammad/Muhammad (however one romanizes it) was no more than a politician, a dictator even, who used the false religion even more successfully than Jim Jones, Tony Alamo, Warren Jeffs or David Koresh or innumerable others to subjugate others to his will politically and sexually. Why else would Islam have as an integral feature the subjugation of women to men? Why is Islam's treatment of women so similar to the way these American perverts treat women in their cults?

I've been wondering why we don't hear constant and never-ending condemnation of Islam from American women's "rights" groups. The topic was once popular as evidenced by some celebrity support of Revolutionary Association of the Women of Afghanistan (RAWA) which still exists due to the need. I have come to the conclusion that American feminists have no interest in the plight of women as objects of abuse but like the race-baiting Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are in the victim business to make money and RAWA has no profit potential.

I suppose it is just too bad for the Islamists and Feminists that they can't get together and plot out a marketing strategy that would make them both a profit.

  Liar, Liar, Timothy Geithner
The Secretary of Treasury Timothy Geithner lied when he cheated on his taxes. Supposedly he lied to the vetting investigator about the taxes. Now we discover he was following this same pattern in his previous postion.

Geithner’s New York Fed Told AIG to Limit Swaps Disclosure
The Federal Reserve Bank of New York, then led by Timothy Geithner, told American International Group Inc. to withhold details from the public about the bailed-out insurer’s payments to banks during the depths of the financial crisis, e-mails between the company and its regulator show.

AIG said in a draft of a regulatory filing that the insurer paid banks, which included Goldman Sachs Group Inc. and Societe Generale SA, 100 cents on the dollar for credit-default swaps they bought from the firm. The New York Fed crossed out the reference, according to the e-mails, and AIG excluded the language when the filing was made public on Dec. 24, 2008. The e-mails were obtained by Representative Darrell Issa, ranking member of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

The New York Fed took over negotiations between AIG and the banks in November 2008 as losses on the swaps, which were contracts tied to subprime home loans, threatened to swamp the insurer weeks after its taxpayer-funded rescue. The regulator decided that Goldman Sachs and more than a dozen banks would be fully repaid for $62.1 billion of the swaps, prompting lawmakers to call the AIG rescue a “backdoor bailout” of financial firms.

“It appears that the New York Fed deliberately pressured AIG to restrict and delay the disclosure of important information,” said Issa, a California Republican. Taxpayers “deserve full and complete disclosure under our nation’s securities laws, not the withholding of politically inconvenient information.” President Barack Obama selected Geithner as Treasury secretary, a post he took last year.
Doing this he affected our perceptions of the various bailouts and helped his buddies at Goldman Sachs over Lehman Brothers. Many Goldman Sachs former employees are or were involved in the various bailout plans.

  Controversial? Offensive? Offensive to whom?

In my wife's high school the big flap was when she put a photo of a couple of buzzards up with a mention of the cafeteria staff. In my time the big controversy was over dress code and whether mini or maxi skirts or blue jeans would be worn at school.

The class of 2011 at Edsel Ford High School in Dearborn, Michigan has come up with a t-shirt which has the image shown here.  This image is being called "offensive"

At least nine juniors at Dearborn's Edsel Ford High School are in trouble for wearing sweat shirts with a design that evoked an image of the terrorist attacks that destroyed the World Trade Center.

D
earborn Public Schools spokesman David Mustonen says the shirts worn Monday to EFHS were "offensive'' and in "poor taste.''  The boys were to meet with school officials, but suspensions weren't planned.

The students are Arab-American, as are about half the school's 1,700 students, and are part of the class of 2011.  The number "11'' was made to resemble two buildings on the shirts and the school's ``thunderbird'' mascot was flying toward them. "YOU CAN'T BRING US DOWN'' was printed beneath.

Tuesday's
community forum about the shirts drew about 300 people.
Why is it offensive? Because it shows "the twin towers", the school mascot (an eagle) approaching "the towers" and the motto "You can't bring us down".

To whom is this offensive? "Arab-Americans"? Americans? 9-11 survivors? Some school-board member who doesn't like the color black?

I think it is clever. Very clever. It can be interpreted in a couple of ways. It is much better than the usual class item. Whether it is pro or anti American it is FREE SPEECH. Every time we limit free speech, they win.

Lest this be taken down this was posted on the school website...
January 4, 2010

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Today, we noticed a group of male students wearing black sweatshirts (hoodies) with wordings on the front and back. The front side had: Edsel Ford, class of 2011.

The back side had a nickname for each student in addition to our Thunderbird logo and the number 11. The number eleven had a ten window design on each strand.

Beneath the number eleven, the words “You can’t take us down “were printed. The whole design gave prominence to the 9-11 tragedy. It made several staff members and students upset because of the perceived message. The students in question were processed in the main office and their hoodies were confiscated. I am meeting with their parents tomorrow to discuss this incident and its ramifications. After talking with the students, it became clear that there were no intentions of harm rather a very inappropriate and distasteful attempt to draw attention to themselves and to the class of 2011. I want to reassure everyone that the safety of our students and staff will always remain our prime priority here at Edsel Ford. Edsel Ford administration, the district’s student services and communications offices and our school police officer have all been involved in addressing this incident.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions regarding this incident.

Yours truly,

Hassane Jaafar

Principal
Edsel Ford High School

I would still like to know exactly who was offended. I would also like to know why these "hoodies" were confiscated.

New York Judge Dismisses Case Against Blackwater Operatives
In case you missed this yesterday, a US judge yesterday dismissed all the charges against five Blackwater security guards accused of fatally shooting 14 people in Baghdad in September 2007, and accused the U.S. government of "recklessly" violating the defendants' constitutional rights.
In a stinging rebuke to government prosecutors, Federal Judge Ricardo Urbina said prosecutors had wrongly used incriminating statements the guards made to State Department investigators under a threat of job loss.

"In their zeal to bring charges against the defendant(s), the prosecutors and investigators aggressively sought out statements the defendants had been compelled to make to government investigators in the immediate aftermath of the shooting and in the subsequent investigation," he said.

The government used the statements to "formulate its theory of the case ... and ultimately to obtain indictment in the case," he added.

"In short, the government had utterly failed to prove that it made no impermissible use of the defendants' statements, or that such use was harmless beyond a reasonable doubt."
Well, no shit. 5 guys defend themselves and get prosecuted for doing the job for which they were hired. Not too far off from the Seals being prosecuted (courtmartialed) for hurting the feelings of a murdering bastard when they captured him (without KILLING or even WOUNDING him). Why this intimidation of those serving the government? Because they did it on Bush's watch. You can bet that Lon Horiuchi isn't wondering when the Eric Holder is coming for him...

Well, not so much. You see he also thinks that I'm more of a terrorist threat than the radical Muslims (aka "jihadists"). See for yourself.

I find it hard to believe that this moron was an FBI agent.
