Health Care back on the Front Burner
The POTUS is vowing to move health care "reform" forward with
this proposal. Latest talking points are apparently that "reform" is critical to job creation. Well, government jobs, yes as there are 1-2 MORE councils/boards to oversee every health care decision along with accompanying implied bureaucracy to administer the thing. Harry Reid says that we have to do this to keep unemployed men from beating up their family members. He also says we
shouldn't be upset if the Dems use reconciliation to force through this restructuring of the country (as opposed to budget items).
By the way, reconciliation will allow our Senators Warner and Webb to vote against the plan without endangering the plan. They know it although they seem a bit disingenuous in their description of what is going on.
Meanwhile,
Dems and Republicans both think that the pending "summit" won't break the impasse. Even
Steny Hoyer doesn't think that it has to be all or nothing if success is the goal.
Go back and read the President's
proposal. Seems like an all or nothing approach to me. It seems that the POTUS still doesn't hear the public opposition to this bill. He still doesn't get it.
This may be a blessing in disguise. If he continues to push, the job market doesn't improve, and taxes increase this might be enough to ensure a rejection of the Dem/S this fall. That could save the country.
