Who just does as their told?
I saw this video and thought it yet another disconnect, purposeful or otherwise, on the part of the POTUS and his party.
You see, my Senators Webb and Warner are two Dem/S who have contributed to the upcoming $13-trillion debt by kow-towing to their party. That is in complete contrast to the Republicans here who probably gave Virginia to Obama because they wouldn't vote for a democrat in the form of Republicans Senator John McCain or Jerry Kilgore. Even our own local state Senator Emmett W. Hanger, Jr. was almost unseated by a revolt inside the Republican party. That's not "doing what they're told", is it?
It is the Dem/S who enforce adherence to the party line. They have even tried to do it with professional organizations, publicly held companies and news networks...
For us, the American ideal is personified in the concept of self-reliance, work ethic, honesty/forthrightness, decency, personal property rights, family, religion, an ability to defend oneself from criminals and crooked politicians, and personal responsibility.
