No More Government Health Care Plans...
You can't get those you have to work correctly. Medicare is approaching bankruptcy and you aren't doing anything to eliminate the graft/fraud/corruption in/of the system. Dittos on Medicaid. Dittos on the Veterans' Administration health care.
I don't know about you but I find this last to be particularly galling. The Congress won't fund the VA doctors. In fact it has come to light that in Phoenix there will be no funding for 4 whole months and veterans will not receive care. These are people who have given nearly all they have for this country (and offered everything, their lives). We owe them. We've told them we owe them. When I enlisted I was told that if I did 20 years service I'd have health care for life. A lie. Lying to the folks who defend you from your enemies is a losing proposition.
Since we can't give folks health care without stealing money from others lets stop doing things we know won't work and not pass this $1-trillion "health care reform" plan. Lets do common sense things.
- permit private ownership by the insured of health care insurance policies purchased across state lines just like auto insurance. Allow employers to contribute as part of a compensation package.
- tort reform that limits punitive damages but still permits those suffering from malpractice to get reimbursement for actual damages
Don't do the following.
- no new taxes
- no increases in taxes
All this is about bills that the public can't read, that CONGRESSMEN can't read. Not won't read, CAN'T read. Why? Because the Congressional leaders are writing and re-writing the bill(s) in SECRET. This isn't transparent government! This isn't right!
I don't know why my Senators aren't listening. Their responses to my e-mails are mushy mouthed form letter attempts to mollify supporters on "both" sides of the issue. I have no idea what they will actually vote for but suspect from the language in the responses that they are going to vote the party line. In other words Senators Mark Warner and Jim Webb are going to put party before the Virginians the ostensibly represent. In other words they lied in their campaigns.
Just how many more times do I have to say, "NO MORE GOVERNMENT HEALTH CARE PLANS..."
