Happy Thanksgiving!
Today is Thanksgiving Day. It is a day to give thanks for all the blessings of this life. It is also a day, in most of the U.S., to share a feast with family and/or friends.
I think it should also be a day of remembrance. A day to remember those of our ancestors who came to this land however many years ago so that we, their children, grandchildren or great times-? grandchildren could have a better life.
I am thankful. I am thankful for a wonderful family as all I've known were kind and loving to me. I am thankful that even at my poorest I never went hungry, was never without shelter, never naked. I am thankful that my life has been one rife with the freedom to speak openly about my country. I am thankful for a life lived in liberty to pursue my dreams and my interests. I am thankful that I can worship as I please without persecution. I am thankful that all that I have worked for I might still be able to pass on to my children and grandchildren. I am thankful for all my brothers and sisters in arms who have, are and will risk their lives so that my family as well as theirs can be just as thankful as I am this Thanksgiving Day.
Thank you God, for ALL these blessings.
