Is the NRA Doing all They Could be Doing?
Or perhaps is the NRA populated by elitists who have consistently negotiated away the rights of the common man? Are they like Jesse Jackson's Rainbow Coalition or Al Sharpton, feeding on the victimization of gun-owners in the way those fellas and their organization get money by exploiting race relations? Some folks think so.
Old Ironsights pointed me to
NRAwol. Although a quick perusal seems to point more towards incompetence rather than planned acquiesance, the owner(s) of the site rightly point out the many failures of the NRA to support gun owners.
Why is this a concern? Well HR2640 is one problem. This act is being pushed as an "improvement" to the NICS and agency inter-communicability about prohibited persons. In fact, there are so many problems in defining the prohibited persons that some have termed it the Veterans Disarmament Act. Also a problem is the failure to fund the necessary agencies to correct record errors. Old Ironsights has addressed these concerns about the NRA being actively supportive of the legislation in conjunction with Carolyn McCarthy and the Brady Bunch. There is a lot of opposition to the legislation including some NRA board members such as Ted Nugent.
Why do they oppose the legislation? Read the
National Association for Gun Rights rebuttal of the NRA's position on HR2640 and decide for yourself.
