H.R.1955 - Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007

Courtesy of Tam at View from the Porch comes news of this bill that has passed the House of Representatives and moved to the Senate. This bill pretty much labels thought a crime. That's the premise. E.g. if I think perhaps it would be better to just get rid of all these damn traitorous Dem/S then I've committed a crime. I'm a terrorist. Lack of an act means nothing, merely discussing the merits (or lack thereof) can be construed to be a crime. And these people think that the POTUS and Republicans were dictators?

Oh, so you say that all it does is establish a commission to investigate homegrown terrorism... Well, why? Why do we need an expensive commission to tell us that there are people so radicalized that they will commit terrorist acts (see ALF for one)? Because they need some body of "experts" to rationalize the criminalization of thought. When you can put your political opponents in jail for thinking you should be voted out of office then they can't vote. Yeah, I know, get out the tinfoil...

Look folks. The truth is that the Dem/S can't do crap about terrorists. They don't understand those outside the country that want to destroy us and they don't understand that they have been the ones whose radical rhetoric has either alienated constitutionalists or given succor to the radical socialists and environmentalists. This damn thing won't do anything for us but lighten our wallets. Write your Senator and ask him to vote against this bill.

For us, the American ideal is personified in the concept of self-reliance, work ethic, honesty/forthrightness, decency, personal property rights, family, religion, an ability to defend oneself from criminals and crooked politicians, and personal responsibility.
