Casselberry, FL Police Sergeant Drops Lawsuit
We mentioned in our weekly roundup of particularly galling news stories about the Casselberry, FL police sergeant who was suing the family of a nearly drowned, permanently disabled child for injuries received during her response to the emergency call associated with that near drowning. Well,
she's dropped the lawsuit. According to the Police dept. she was discouraged from pursuing legal action but went ahead with it anyway. She's now been placed on paid administrative leave but the reason for that is not given. She should be fired. Her expenses and pay continued while she recovered. There was no reason for her to turn on those she swore to serve. Soldiers don't get this deal, they don't sue the combatants on the other side. It is part of the job.
