Warner to Retire
US Senator John Warner (R-VA)
announced that he will retire and not seek re-election. Thanks be to God. John Warner wasn't always the up-front elitist RINO he's been the past 15 years or so. I remember when he first ran for the Senate here in VA. Thankful he wasn't a doofus like Scott (does anyone remember Senator Scott?) and seemingly possessed of greater intelligence and experience and pro-American sentiments than his then Democrat challenger, we voted him in and in he has stayed. Oh, he has back tracked on many if not most of the values his constituents hold dear but they've still managed to vote him another term every six years. And the Dem/S, well, hell, they couldn't find anyone who excited the electorate to run against him.
Ok, so now the VA Republicans have the mission of finding a pro-gun, pro-American, anti-tax, anti-big government candidate. Think they can do it? Or, will we be treated to another the like of Jim Webb? Jeez.
