Traitor?
trai-tor
n. One who betrays one's country, a cause, or a trust, especially one who commits treason.
Here's a couple of traitors. The one on the left is Benedict Arnold, on the right is Lynne Stewart.

You probably know Benedict Arnold. After fighting for the US against the Brits he switched sides for money and prestige in the form of military rank. He is reviled to this day.
You might not know Lynne Stewart. A judge said Monday he would sentence civil rights lawyer Lynne Stewart to 28 months in prison on a terrorism charge for helping an Egyptian sheik communicate with his followers on the outside.
The New York City Civil Right lawyer who faced 30 years to life in prison, smiled as the judge read her sentence. In court papers, prosecutors told that Stewart's "egregious, flagrant abuse of her profession, abuse that amounted to material support to a terrorist group, deserves to be severely punished."
Ms. Stewart knowingly passed messages from a known, self-admitted terrorist to his terrorist organization. We can only wonder for how many deaths of Americans she might bear responsibility.
