Quislings Won't Get My Vote
Once upon a time some ancestors of mine tried to avoid a pointless war and get along with some rather obnoxious interlopers who thought it was their way or the "highway" (of course there were no highways). Anyway, the upshot of it was that my ancestors were coerced into marriage, running to the west, fighting for/with/against these interlopers and dying, converting, going to special schools to ensure they were assimilated (how backward is that?) and so forth. I'm a descendent of a couple of the if-you-can't-beat-em-join-em crowd. So's the wife.
These folks on the other side of this war intend to kill us. They will even kill their own who don't exhibit the right thought. They have murdered women for daring to support themselves after they murdered their husbands. They are the opposite of what I was raised to believe constituted an AMERICAN. We must destroy them or die. It is that simple.
The folks opposing the war are 90% from the "other" party, they are anti-gun to their core because they know it will inhibit their control of us. They think they can appease, but it didn't work. It didn't work after the USS Cole, not after World Trade Center 1993. Appeasement never works. So then we will be subjected to attacks against which we as individuals will have no defense. Not for me.
For me the gun control issue is a lens that allows me to see just how much a candidate or party trusts me as a citizen, an equal citizen. When they don't trust me, I'm smart enough, experienced enough, dare I say, wise enough to know that they can't be trusted. I will not vote for them. Never. But neither will I vote for a man, woman, party, agenda, that would surrender to tyranny. The islamofacists are tyrants, have been tyrants, would be tyrants everywhere and would destroy all to achieve that goal. In a way they are like the abusive, stalking ex-boyfriend who would kill his own wife and child lest they become somebody else's. They are sick, they are evil. I will not vote for those who will surrender to them and leave me defenseless.
