AMTRAK - How DOES it continue?
AMTRAK needs help. It
could be a viable and enjoyable mode of transportation for those of us outside the NorthEast Corridor. It is in direct competition with the bus system for those who don't drive and can't afford air fare. The cars are comfortable, the facilities work, and the fares are fair. However, the stations stink, literally, the employees seem to have been hired away from
Dirty Dick's and must think that being abrupt and rude is entertaining. In short, customer service isn't that great. Most importantly, the trains don't run on time. Riding the Cardinal from Prince, WV the train was 1 hour and 15 minutes late into Prince and 2 hours late into Staunton. To me, that is a killer for a business. If you can't reliably deliver your product how do you continue to sell it?
Maybe you know the answer, I'm still working on it!
