The car and an Audi A3 were stolen from the police officer's Little Altcar home after burglars took the keys, bank cards, cash and a warrant card.Nope, I think that it is good that the thieves of these cars suffered almost poetic justice. What concerns me is that the owner of the cars, Kenneth Scarth:
Within hours both vehicles had been involved in horrific accidents.
The Mercedes crashed into a tree and burst into flames after leaving the Formby bypass, close to the Lighthouse roundabout, shortly after 1am.
A 16-year-old girl scrambled free from the wreckage despite serious injuries, but the driver died.
Police fear it could be weeks before the victim is formally named - his body was so badly burned DNA tests are needed to confirm his identity.
A POLICE officer could face disciplinary action over comments he reportedly made about the car thief who stole his Mercedes and died in a fireball crash. That police officer? Why Mr. Scarth! What did he say that was so startling insensitive?
"I have no sympathy for them. I feel sorry for his parents and for the girl's parents, but not for them. I am not bothered about what has happened to them."I suppose that in Great Britain, you are now not only unable to defend yourself you can't be glad that the bad guys who steal from you & destroy your property suffer for their misdeeds. Heck, you can't even be non-plussed by their misfortune.
